Who is
“Families for a Better Community?”
We are a Tampa Bay area
group that meets once a month,
usually on a Saturday
morning from 10:00am – 1:00pm to do good
works in our community.
Parents with children,
adults who don’t have children, teenagers,
anyone and everyone is
welcome! Our good works are based on
the precepts found
in The Way To Happiness® book.
Examples of just some of the many projects we have done
include:
- Precept 1.1-3 – Take
Care of Yourself – Preserve Your
Teeth.
We created “goodie baskets” that included
toothbrushes and
toothpaste and passed them out at a foster home.
- Precept 1.1-4 – Take Care of
Yourself – Eat Properly.
We picked fruit from Florida
fruit trees and then delivered the fruit to
a food bank.
- Precept 17 – Be Competent.
We learned several new talents, including a hip hop dance
from a
local dance troupe.
- Precept 12 – Safeguard and
Improve your Environment.
We adopted a park and helped to
plant flowers, spread mulch, clean up, cut vines and more.
- Precept 4 – Love and Help
Children.
We created an Easter Egg Hunt for children at the Joshua
House.
- Precept 18 – Respect the
Religious Beliefs of Others.
We helped to put on an Easter
Egg Hunt for a church group.
